In case the automatic setup fails, here is the manual setup for the Apple Mail email client:
- To add an account, choose Mail > Add Account from the menu bar in Mail.
- Or choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Internet Accounts, then click the type of account to add.
Name: is your real name
Email Address: your full email address
Password: the password belonging to the email address
If it is unable to verify the account name or Password, continue:
Email Address: full email address
User Name: also the full email address [not your name; counter intuitive]
Password: the email accounts password
Account Type: Choose POP or IMAP according to your needs
Incoming Mail Server: your_domain.com
Outgoing Mail Server: your_domain.com
Sign In and your done 🙂
